Biography
Carlos Gevers-Montoro is a professor at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and a neuroscientist with expertise in chronic pain mechanisms. Originally trained as a chiropractor, he has over 20 years of clinical and teaching experience. He completed his PhD in Biomedical Sciences with Mathieu Piché at the Université de Montréal in 2023, followed by postdoctoral training with Mathieu Roy at McGill University (2023–2026). His research focuses on the mechanisms underlying chronic pain and nonpharmacological interventions, with a particular interest in neuroimmune mechanisms. He also investigates how contextual factors and patient preferences may influence the outcomes of nonpharmacological interventions.
