Biography
Stéphanie Cormier obtained her doctorate in psychology - research and intervention, clinical psychology option from the University of Montreal. She is a professor in the Department of Psychoeducation and Psychology at the Université du Québec en Outaouais. She also works as a clinical psychologist specializing in health psychology and has nearly ten years of experience in persistent pain management. Her research focuses on psychosocial factors associated with pain and its treatment. Among other things, she is interested in the impact of cognitive, affective and social variables on the experience of pain as well as on the response to its treatment. Her recent studies focus on the contribution of expectations to pain regulation, the perception of the pain of others and the stigma of pain.
