Biography
Philippe Sarret is full professor in the Department of Pharmacology & Physiology at the Université de Sherbrooke (Quebec, Canada) and holds the Canada Research Chair tier 1 in neurophysiopharmacology of chronic pain. He obtained his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Nice University in 2000 followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Neurosciences at McGill University. Acting as the Director of the FRQ-S funded Quebec Pain Research Network (QPRN), director of the Neuroscience Centre of Excellence of the Univ. de Sherbrooke and director of the Institut de Pharmacologie, he has made significant contributions to the understanding of the role of several G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), notably NTS1 & 2, CCR2 and apelin receptors, in the pathophysiology of chronic pain. Since the beginning of his career, he has published over 175 articles and book chapters and also holds 13 active patents.
