Biography

Shajenth Premachandran completed his B.Sc. in Anatomy and Cell Biology and a M.Sc. in Experimental Surgery at McGill University, and is currently a PhD student, in the department of Physiology at McGill, working under the supervision of Dr. Reza Sharif-Naeini and Dr. John Orlowski. His project focuses on the role of the alkali cation/proton exchanger, NHE6, in pain transmission, and how the loss of function of NHE6 results in the hypersensitivity to touch observed in children diagnosed with Christianson syndrome.
