Jason Bouffard, erg. Ph.D. is an occupational therapist by training and professor in the department of kinesiology at Université Laval. His research focuses on evaluating the effects of pain and fatigue on movements performed in an ecological context. In order to achieve his research objectives, he uses a combination of methodological approaches and tools (inertial sensors, electromyography, evaluation of clinical populations, experimental pain and fatigue, qualitative methods) not only to measure the effects of pain. and fatigue on movement, but also to better understand the underlying mechanisms. He aims both to develop a fundamental understanding of the functioning of the neuromotor system and to improve assessment and intervention methods aimed at the prevention and rehabilitation of motor capacities by taking into account the impacts of pain and tiredness.
