Biography
Occupational therapist by training, Émilie Lagueux is interested in developing and evaluating new avenues of occupational therapy in order to improve the management of persistent pain. The first part of her research program was to conduct a scoping review to examine the breadth and depth of knowledge about the practice of occupational therapy in persistent pain. Using an electronic survey, she then drew up a portrait of the current practice of occupational therapy in persistent pain management in Quebec and identified the skills development needs. Her latest REPAR-funded research examines the effect of the Lifestyle Redesign® intervention, an innovative occupational therapy intervention for pain management. Pre Lagueux aspires to play a pivotal role in the development of best practices for the occupational therapist in persistent pain management, particularly in the primary care setting.
