Biography

Dr. Anne Marie Pinard is an anesthesiologist with an exclusive practice in pain clinics. She is head of the chronic pain service at the CHU de Québec.
She holds a master's degree in educational technology and a chair in knowledge transfer in persistent pain, providing patients and their families with a resource bank and self-management program. What are you most proud of in your career?
I'm proud for having followed my curiosity wherever it led me, even when the path wasn't so clearly marked out. As a clinician with no formal research background, I nevertheless dared to talk to researchers, guided by a desire to understand, connect and act. I tamed doubt, silenced impostor syndrome and built bridges between worlds that increasingly interact: the worlds of care, research, patients and decision-makers. This original path has taught me one essential thing: it's through openness, dialogue and co-construction that the ideas that truly transform are born. For me, the real impact lies there - in the meeting places. It's what I'm passionate about, what nourishes me... and what, in my eyes, gives meaning to what we do.
