Dive into the heart of scientific advances in pain with the Bordeaux Summer School, an intensive program bringing together renowned experts for immersive, multidisciplinary training. Combining advanced courses, hands-on workshops and exploration of an exceptional setting, this school is a unique opportunity for students passionate about pain research.
The Bordeaux Pain Summer School is a joint initiative of the Université de Bordeaux, the CERVO research center at Université Laval (Quebec, Canada) and the Institut des neurosciences cellulaires et intégratives in Strasbourg (France). Three QPRN members are involved in this school: Yves de Koninck, Full Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience, Université Laval, Marie-Ève Paquet, Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Bioinformatics, Université Laval and Tomoko Ohyama, Assistant Professor, Department of Biology.
The School offers a five-day program that allows students to explore the physiological and pathological aspects of pain, using state-of-the-art technologies. Leading scientists will train participants in advances in pain management. The program includes advanced courses, workshops on techniques and hands-on training. The city of Bordeaux is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, described as an “exceptional urban and architectural ensemble”, and therefore offers an ideal training setting.
QPRN offers student members of the Quebec Network of Junior Pain Investigators access to funding grants for this school.
