2024 Pilot projects

Congratulations to our members recipients of the pilot projects 2024-2025 competition.

This program serves to initiate and promote an innovative and not funded aspect of the scientific research from the QPRN members. Researchers will be able to test the feasibility of an innovative concept by obtaining preliminary data that will allow the preparation of a grant application to one of the recognized funding agencies.

  • Maude Desjardins – Reliably Tracking Laryngeal Pain, Discomfort, and Effort in Hyperfunctional Voice Disorders: Self-Tracking vs. Traditional Case History
  • Gabrielle Pagé – Detecting circadian rhythms of blood biomarkers at home in people with chronic low back pain
  • Audrey Grant – Immunological and neurological quantitative traits to dissect causal genetic pathways leading to chronic pain
  • Emerson Krock – Protease regulation of DRG extracellular matrix in chemotherapy pain

There was a 36% success rate for the 2024-2025 competition, comparing to the total success rate of 44% since the inauguration of the competition. Two clinical science and two basic science research projects were funded. Two young investigators received grants.
