Manon Choinière, winner of Reseau1-Quebec’s call for research projects on innovations

Réseau1-Québec is a primary care knowledge network. The Network is based on an infrastructure of member clinics attached to one of four Primary Care Practice Research Networks (RRAPPL) that cover the territory of Quebec. Each RRAPPL is under the responsibility of a department of family medicine and emergency medicine at Université Laval, McGill University, Université de Montréal or Université de Sherbrooke.

Since 2013, Réseau 1-Quebec has launched an annual call for research projects on innovations to change frontline practice has the following objectives:

  • Support “Research 3.0” research projects to evaluate the introduction of innovation or change in service delivery in clinical settings associated with RRAPPL to improve the quality and integration of care for patients.
  • Fund teams that pay particular attention to the implementation and immediate impacts of changes or new practices that are introduced.
  • Support close collaboration between researchers, clinician-practitioners, patients and managers.
  • Establish a dynamic exchange between the different RRAPPL to facilitate knowledge sharing and translation in clinical settings.

This year, Manon Choiniere, RQRD member and Professor at the University of Montreal, was selected for her project: Using the INTERMED instrument in the front line to assess the complexity of chronic pain management in order to provide adapted care to specific patient needs.
