Biography

Sylvie Le May is a researcher at CHU Ste-Justine’s Research Centre in Montreal and Full Professor at the Faculty of Nursing of the University of Montreal.
She is interested by the management of acute and procedural pain in the emergency, burn, surgical and pediatric intensive care units. She uses virtual reality in her research projects with children.

What excites you most about your research program or field?
I am passionate about my research program because it gives me the opportunity to work with pediatric patients to better manage pain during painful medical procedures, thereby helping to prevent the development of chronic pain in this population. Furthermore, my research program allows me to quickly translate my research findings into clinical practice, thereby improving clinical practices and the quality of care received by pediatric patients. It is truly a privilege.
