Biography
Sonia Font del Pino completed her anesthesia training at the Université de Montréal in 2002. Since then, she has been working at Hôpital du Haut Richelieu, in the anesthesia department, and is actively involved in the pain management clinic. In 2006-2007, she received training in interventional pain management techniques at the Montreal General Hospital.
She continued her training at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, with Daniel Miller's group in San Francisco and in Milan, Italy.
She works closely with front-line pain management physicians to promote non-invasive, non-medicated tools.
Her aim is to:
- Develop self-management, avoid regular medication and reduce cortisone infiltrations.
- Ensure faster communication and multi-management between all stakeholders.
- Simplify the number of players involved with rapid self-management and understanding of the situation.
The fundamental aim of her work is to establish an early management mechanism to avoid entering the chronic phase of pain management.
