Biography

Patricia Laforce has been a nurse since 2013. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Nursing Science from Université Laval and a Master's degree in Nursing Science from Université de Montréal. She has had a long-standing interest in procedural pain management. As part of her master's thesis, she studied the effects of therapeutic distraction by a clown on children's pain and anxiety during vaccination.

She worked for four years in pediatrics at the CISSS des Laurentides and joined CHU Sainte-Justine in 2017. Since May 2021, she has been part of the Tout doux team (an institutional policy aimed at improving the prevention and management of procedural pain and distress), where she plays a leadership role in training healthcare professionals and is responsible for deploying the project throughout the hospital. Since 2023, she has been a nursing care advisor specializing in pain/Tout doux and a knowledge broker for SKIP.
