Biography

With a doctorate in clinical sciences and trained in the field of neurophysiology of pain, Nancy Julien is a full professor at the University of Quebec in Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT) and she is also responsible for a 45-hour course on the phenomenon of pain offered in the baccalaureate in nursing sciences and in various certificates offered to health professionals. Her research interests are in the training of nurses and other professionals in the phenomenon of pain, the experience of chronic pain in Aboriginal people, as well as mindfulness meditation as an approach to the treatment of chronic pain.
