Biography
Dr., Major (retired) Luc J. Hébert obtained his diploma in physiotherapy (1982), as well as a Master's degree in biomedical sciences from Université de Montréal (1989) and a Doctorate in experimental medicine from Université Laval (2001). He trained in orthopaedic medicine, becoming a Fellow of the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine, London (Angelterre-1994). He is a full professor at Université Laval's School of Rehabilitation Sciences (UL). He served 28 years in the Canadian Armed Forces in Canada and overseas. He is a researcher at the Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire en réadaptation et d'intégration sociale (CIRRIS) and Director of Research in the Department of Radiology/Nuclear Medicine at UL. He is Director of Research Partnerships and Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Centre of Excellence on Chronic Pain for Canadian Veterans. His research focuses on the variables that best explain and predict neuromusculoskeletal injuries, as well as the factors that limit people's functional performance, with a particular interest in pain, muscle function and motor control.
