Biography
Kyrie Larcher (M.S.W.) has lived experience with chronic pain due to a genetic condition, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and several of its co-morbidities including endometriosis, hypermobility and vascular and digestive dysfunction. She is a social worker in mental health care and supports other patients living with chronic pain and illness. She is also an activist for disability and chronic illness justice and accessibility.
What excites you most about your research program or field?
I would like to see a world where patient empowerment is at the center of medical and psychosocial care, and where this care is always accessible, compassionate, and trauma-informed. I believe that research can guide and contribute to this goal.
