Biography
Karine Tremblay is an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacology-Physiology of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Sherbrooke and a researcher at the CIUSSS du Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean and at the CHUS Research Center. Her research interests are focused on the study of genetic variants of the response to drugs as well as on the transfer of knowledge acquired in community clinical practices (primary care or specialized) for the benefit of patients and clinicians. The goal is to promote the development of effective tools that will allow the deployment of the promises of precision medicine of tomorrow. Several projects are underway in her team, including one specifically aimed at studying the pharmacogenetic determinants of the response to cannabis in the treatment of chronic pain.
