Biography
Dr Karen dos Santos Ferreira is Neurologist specialist in Pain Management with more than 10 years of experience in the Headache and Neuropathic Pain Clinic (University of Sao Paulo, Brazil). She has been studying chronic pain during her master’s degree- 2010 and PhD- 2012 (University of Sao Paulo, Brazil). After this, she developed research in the field of cognitive deficits (patients with chronic pain and migraine), when she was supervising medical students and psychologists. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP).
Nowadays, she is a neurologist in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Québec, Canada (Hôpital du Suroit – CISSS de la Montérégie Ouest) In addition, she has been developing research projects with Dr Ana Miriam Velly (McGill University), related to chronic pain.
