Biography

Junie Carrière, PhD, is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Sherbrooke and Researcher at the Charles-Le-Moyne Research Center. She holds a doctorate in experimental psychology from McGill University with a specialization in pain and rehabilitation psychology. She also completed a research internship in pain medicine at Stanford University in California, in addition to completing postgraduate training in anesthesiology and pain medicine at Harvard Medical School. Her research program aims to better understand, prevent and manage pain and disability. She is particularly interested in the impact of biopsychosocial determinants on the development and persistence of pain. Her recent studies examine the role of expectations on recovery trajectories from work-related injuries. Her research at the bachelor's, master's, doctoral and postdoctoral levels was subsidized by the FRQ - Santé. She is also the recipient of a J1 career grant from the FRQ - Health.
