Biography
Josiane Bissonnette (Ph.D.) is Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Music at Université Laval. Her research interests include the effect of music listening on the pain, anxiety and well-being of people living with chronic pain, and the well-being and excellence of musicians. She is actively involved in the development and evaluation of complementary interventions, and in the analysis of mechanisms explaining the efficacy of the non-pharmacological interventions developed. Josiane Bissonnette is a multidisciplinary researcher. She holds a postdoctorate in biomedical sciences from the Université de Montréal, a doctorate in music education from Université Laval and a master's degree in piano performance. She has also studied psychology and performance at the Conservatoire de musique.
