Biography

I have been a nurse since 2012 and am currently a PhD student in health sciences research. I am a white woman of French colonial descent, living and working on Nitakinan Anicinape Aki, where UQAT is located.
Since 2018, I have oriented my career toward teaching in the DEC-BAC nursing program and chose to pursue doctoral studies to actively contribute to addressing anti-Indigenous racism within the nursing profession, as well as to the co-development of culturally safe approaches to chronic pain care.
As part of my doctoral studies, I use a collaborative, partnership-based, and decolonial research approach, notably through painting (art), to better understand chronic pain among Anicinabe and Eeyou individuals living with chronic pain.
