Biography

François Desmeules, pht., Ph.D. is a physiotherapist who graduated from Université Laval in 2000. He obtained a doctorate in epidemiology from Université Laval in 2010. Professor Desmeules was a clinician for more than ten years at the University Hospital of Quebec. He is now a professor at the School of Rehabilitation at the University of Montreal in the physiotherapy program and he is a researcher at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital Research Center. His research interests focus on: 1- the development of new physiotherapy care models including advanced practices 2- the diagnosis and evaluation of rehabilitation and orthopedic interventions for shoulder and knee disorders and 3 - Evidence-based practices and the production of knowledge syntheses in the field of rehabilitation and orthopaedics.
He is the author of more than 80 studies in rehabilitation and orthopedics, published in various scientific journals and he is currently a FRQ-S research fellow. He has been involved in several projects affecting professional practice in physiotherapy over the years and has acted as an expert, consultant or administrator with several organizations or institutions in Quebec and Canada.
