Biography

Pediatric Emergency Physician at CHU Sainte-Justine in Montreal and an Associate Professor at Université de Montréal. Primary interests are procedural and acute pain management as well as knowledge translation.
Different studies on pain and distress management. Driving multidisciplinary pain management teams at CHU Sainte-Justine in the ED (EAU: Équipe d’Analgésie à l’Urgence) and in the hospital (DrépaNoPain: for patients with sickle cell disease) for the last 10 years. Medical co-leader of an institutional quality improvement project at CHUSJ on procedural pain and distress management (Tout doux) and of the SKIP (Solution for Kids In Pain) francophone regional hub, the main goal being to improve the patient experience through its care. Driving the development of clinical practice guidelines on www.urgencehsj.ca francophone website for the paediatric emergency department and published more than 60 of them.
From 2016 to 2022, Member of the CPS Acute Care Committee and participated to elaboration of statements and practice points, including those on procedural pain and pain assessment/management, as first author. She is now VP of PEM section and on the Scientific Steering Committee Canadian Paediatric Surveillance Program.

What part of your job do you enjoy the most?
Reach out to the network and talk with the referral centers for the management of acute and procedural pain in children in order to reduce their pain and fear, avoid fear of our care, and ultimately, long-term consequences.
