Biography
Dr. Emmanuelle Duceppe did her medicine at the University of Montreal and her residency in general internal medicine at the University of Montreal. She then undertook a fellowship in Perioperative Medicine and doctoral training in clinical epidemiology at McMaster University in Hamilton. Dr. Duceppe works as an internist at the CHUM and is a researcher at the CHUM Research Center. She is also a FRQS Junior 1 clinician-researcher. She is the first author of the Canadian recommendations on the assessment and management of perioperative risk in non-cardiac surgery from the Canadian Cardiovascular Society. Her research program focuses on postoperative complications following day surgery, including acute and chronic postoperative pain, quality of life and impact on functioning. Her research interests also include the use of biomarkers for the prediction and detection of postoperative complications.
