Biography
Elizabeth Zimmermann is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences at McGill University. She obtained her PhD in the field of materials science and engineering from the University of California, Berkeley followed by postdoctoral research in the fields of bone biology, clinical imaging, and mechanobiology at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (Germany), Ecole Polytechnique and Shriners Hospital for Children-Canada. Elizabeth Zimmermann’s research investigates structure-function relationships in musculoskeletal tissues at the tissue and material levels. Her research interests also include biomechanics of the peripheral nerve and mechanoadaptation of bone to abnormal function in children with neuromuscular disorders.
