Biography

Doctor in Psychology, graduate of the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium (2015), David Ogez has experience in medical psychology for 21 years. He is currently a Clinical Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine (University of Montreal), and is hired as a clinician-scientist at the Pain Management Clinic at HMR. His research focuses on evaluating the effects of hypnosis-based techniques, virtual reality, procedural, operative and chronic pain. At CHU Sainte-Justine, he is continuing his research on the implementation of hypnotic communication techniques to reduce procedural pain in pediatric oncology through a FRQS-Oncopole grant (2020). At HMR, he works on the objective evaluation of the effects of medical hypnosis in the perioperative period (Dr Richebé's team), through conversational hypnosis and in the management of chronic pain through a group intervention focused on l training of self-hypnosis techniques. He is also interested in fundamental studies on the effects of hypnosis on pain studied in neuroscience (Dr. Rainville laboratory).
