Biography

Caroline Blais earned a PhD in psychology, with a specialization in cognitive psychology, from the Université de Montréal. She is a full professor in the Department of Psychoeducation and Psychology at the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO). She holds a Canada Research Chair in Visual and Social Cognition and co-directs the Visual and Social Perception Laboratory at UQO. Her research focuses on the impact of sociocultural factors—such as the cultural environment in which individuals develop and racial prejudice—on the communication of pain through facial expressions.
