Biography

Carmen-Édith Belleï-Rodriguez, PhD, PsEd, is a Professor at the Faculty of Nursing at the Université de Montréal. She completed her training in psychoeducation at Université de Montréal before pursuing a PhD in Health Sciences Research at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Université de Sherbrooke. She then completed a short postdoctoral fellowship in pelvic and perineal pain at Université de Sherbrooke, followed by a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Department of Pain and Translational Symptom Science, School of Nursing, at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Her work focuses on non-pharmacological strategies for pain management in childhood and adolescence from a biopsychosocial perspective. She is particularly interested in the impact of caregiver–patient relationships, the modulation of expectations, and family-centered approaches.

What excites you most about your research program or field?
The possibility to make a positive difference in people’s lives, from improving the condition of children living with pain-related challenges, to helping train the next generation of clinicians and researchers.
