The advantage of artificial intelligence in repairing damaged brain functions

Associate members:

Can we change the activity of neurons to solve some health problems, such as pain and Parkinson's disease?

Neurostimulation alters the functioning of neurons by sending mild electrical signals directly into the brain or periphery. It can be applied to conditions such as epilepsy, migraine, Parkinson’s disease and even pain. This approach could relieve pain by interrupting the pain signals between the spinal cord and the brain. However, as people’s brain activity can differ according to their individual conditions and characteristics, a certain amount of calibration is required. Calibration is based on the rhythms, durations, frequencies and amplitude of brain activity, which leaves the choice to an extremely high number of possibilities. Artificial intelligence could help solve this problem.
