QPRN renewed for 8 years

The Thematic Networks programme of the Fonds de recherche en santé du Québec is unique to Quebec. The main objectives of this programme are to strengthen research collaborations around a targeted theme that responds to unmet needs and priorities, and to contribute to the influence of Quebec research on the national and international scene.

In 2001, the Quebec Network was created in its first form around thirty researchers. Since then, the QPRN has become a thematic network of the Fonds de recherche en santé du Québec (FRQS), maintaining its role as a link between all the ecosystem players in Quebec and ensuring that research efforts are prioritised with the aim of improving pain prevention and management in Quebec and facilitating the dissemination of evidence-based data. Since its inception, the QPRN has worked to break down silos in order to bring people together. It is constantly innovating and has achieved national and international visibility. The FRQS, in partnership with the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS), recently announced that the QPRN was one of 15 thematic networks to be renewed in 2024. The QPRN team is delighted and proud to be able to continue to engage, empower and elevate over the next eight years. This renewal demonstrates that pain remains a research priority in Quebec. The QPRN would like to thank its research members, healthcare professionals, students and people living with pain for their collaboration and support, which have contributed greatly to this success.
