The Arthritis Society of Canada is a national health charity supported by donors and volunteers whose mission is to fight arthritis through research, advocacy, innovation, education and support.
Philippe Séguéla is a full professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at McGill University and a member of the RQRD. His team is studying a group of cell surface proteins called acid-sensing ion channels that are present in pain-generating nerves around joints and bones. Targeting these channels could be an effective form of treatment for arthritis and is one of 10 projects funded by the 2023 Arthritis Society’s Stimulus Research Grant.
The Arthritis Society has committed to funding 2 years of this study, at a rate of $50k per year!
Congratulations!
