The Canadian Pain Task Force was created in 2019 to guide federal government decision-makers toward an improved approach to the prevention and management of chronic pain, a diagnosis that affects nearly 8 million Canadians. The group's work has created an unprecedented opportunity for broad health system reform. The plan outlines the specific, targeted actions needed to improve outcomes for people living with chronic pain, and to reduce its impact on families, communities and society.
Congratulations to the team led by Manon Choinière, in close collaboration with several members of QPRN, MSSS, AQDC and Réseau 1, on receiving $785,625 in funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) for the project entitled: “Plan d’action pour la gestion de la douleur chronique du Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux du Québec: Évaluation de la mise en œuvre et des impacts des projets initiaux en vue d’une généralisation progressive à l’ensemble du Québec.” This team grant was funded as part of the Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis’s Science of Implementation – Rethinking Health through Integrated Care (RSSI) – Treatment of Mandate-Related Diseases program.
