Pain and weather

Does the weather really have an impact on the sensation of pain? If so, what is the link between the two?

We have all heard or felt that the weather (humidity, cold) increases the sensation of pain. The Press was interested in the subject and tried to find a rational explanation. Although Dr. Shir, an experienced physician, professor in the Department of Anesthesia at the McGill University Health Centre and member of the QPRN, frequently admits to hearing patients mention the effects of weather on pain, the scientific literature does not explain this relationship. A German researcher has taken an interest in the issue and suggests that a link between the weather, the sinuses and the meninges could shed light on this mystery.
