Yoram Shir and Amir Minerbi funded by the FRQS for a project in artificial intelligence

The Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS) and the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology of the State of Israel (MOST) are joining forces to launch a new bilateral research program on artificial intelligence and healthcare. The main objective of this program is to establish new or strengthen existing collaborations to advance knowledge and technology in the field of artificial intelligence for healthcare.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a technological development that can accelerate progress. In healthcare, AI applications are a rapidly growing field and could facilitate the transformation of healthcare, optimizing care for the population. For this reason, Quebec and Israel have invested a lot of effort in advancing knowledge, technology and infrastructure in this field. It is within this framework that the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS) and the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology of the State of Israel (MOST) have opened the funding competition: Artificial Intelligence and Health Care. Three research teams were awarded, among them Yoram Shir and Amir Minerbi. Congratulations to them, they will each receive $150,000 over a period of 3 years for their project entitled: Artificial Intelligence Algorithms as an Aid to Diagnosis in People Living with Chronic Pain.
