Reza Sharif, recipient of the McGill Innovation Fund

McGill's Office of Innovation and Partnerships has established the McGill Innovation Fund to support faculty, graduate students and postdoctoral researchers who are ready to take their research to the next level.

The first ever McGill Innovation Fund competition was held on December 9, 2021. Nine winners in three different categories were selected from 26 applications. Recipients of the McGill Innovation Fund, in addition to funding ranging from $25,000 to $100,000, also receive mentorship opportunities from former executives, access to investors, services, patent and tax experts, and a student support program to assist with marketing, programming and other needs.

Congratulations to award winner Reza Sharif, QPRN member and professor in the Department of Physiology at McGill for his project entitled Identification of an Channel Target to assist in the treatment of pain in osteo and rheumatoid arthritis.
