The Lundbeck Foundation awards approximately DKK 500 million annually to research in medical and natural sciences, including the world's largest prize for neuroscience research, the Brain Prize (over EUR 1 million).
Congratulations to Jade Degrandmaison who brilliantly defended her doctoral thesis on Delta opioid receptors (DOPr), a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of chronic pain. Co-directed by Professors Louis Gendron and Jean-Luc Parent of the IPS, Jade Degrandmaison’s project consisted of exploring candidate proteins that could improve the access of pharmacological compounds to this receptor, which is mainly positioned at the intracellular level.
Jade will pursue her academic career in neuroscience at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark with a valuable funding from the Lundbeck Foundation in the amount of 480000$.
