In this interview, Anne Marie Pinard shares information about persistent pain and how to live with it.
Anne Marie Pinard, in an interview with L’actualité, talks about the persistent pain that affects 20 to 25% of the population.
Anne Marie Pinard is an anesthesiologist, a full professor in the Faculty of Medicine at Laval University and holds the Leadership Chair in Chronic Pain Education. She describes how persistent pain changes the lives of those who suffer from it and how its treatment is not always obvious. She points out that it is possible to get better and that this requires the commitment of the person in pain and adequate support. The involvement of the person in pain includes the adoption of pain self-management practices. For this reason, Anne Marie Pinard, in collaboration with the Université de Laval and the QPRN, has set up an online pain self-management portal: Managemypain.ca. This portal is intended for patients, caregivers and health professionals.
