A researcher from the QPRN shares her knowledge and her experience for the production of a film on the awakening of a patient after a prolonged coma.
Caroline Arbor acted as scientific editor for the TV series ‘Audrey est retour‘ written by Florence Longpré and Guillaume Lambert.
Inspired in large part by her clinical expertise and research into the pain and sensory perception abilities of pathologically conscious patients, the series highlights the story of Audrey, a young girl who wakes up after 16 years in the coma.
Caroline has been called upon to work closely with the 2 authors over the past year in order to properly represent this complex phenomenon both from the point of view of neurology and family dynamics.
Caroline also put the team in touch with former patients of the Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur who emerged from a deep coma following a severe head trauma.
