A total of 119 Chairs were awarded or renewed at 35 Canadian research institutions. The Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al is receiving $10.2 million for the creation of four new Chairs and the renewal of three others. Three of these chairs are also funded by the Canada Foundation for Innovation&#8217;s John R. Evans Leadership Fund (JRLF). The primary objective of the Canada Research Chairs (CRC) program is to recruit and retain the best researchers in the country. Tier 1 Chairs are awarded to world leaders in their field and are for seven years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Congratulations to Francis Beaudry, member of the QPRN, for this appointment and this FLJE funding.
