In this episode, Ana\u00efs Lacasse\u2014full professor and holder of the Institutional Research Chair in Chronic Pain Epidemiology at the Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec en Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue (UQAT), as well as co-director of the Quebec Pain Research Network (QPRN)\u2014discusses the challenges related to chronic pain. She emphasizes the importance of recognizing high-risk populations, particularly veterans, who are twice as likely to suffer from chronic pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She presents a research project specifically dedicated to Canadian veterans, focusing on their care trajectories, including the use of both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. The project places particular emphasis on the transition from military to civilian life, which involves navigating two different healthcare systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The study aims to recruit participants from across all Canadian provinces in order to identify differences in access to care and to better understand veterans\u2019 lived experiences.
