Dr. Arkady Khoutorsky, Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesia and Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences at McGill University and QPRN member, wins the 2023 Canadian Association of Neurosciences New Investigator Award. One of Dr. Khoutorsky\u2019s greatest impact to date has been the introduction of novel molecular concepts to the understanding of pain regulation and the initiation of pathological pain. He has also made several discoveries relating to regulation of protein synthesis in neurological disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His publication record is impressive as well as his funding success is at the national and international levels are impressive. In addition to research excellence, he has taken on leadership roles at McGill including chairing the events committee of the Alan Edwards Centre for Research on Pain, one of the country\u2019s leading pain centres. He has supervised eight graduate students, three postdoctoral fellows, three research associates and more than 18 undergraduate research projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
