{"id":797,"date":"2020-01-14T14:51:02","date_gmt":"2020-01-14T19:51:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/qprn.ca\/programme-elargis-tes-horizons\/"},"modified":"2025-04-15T11:45:31","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T15:45:31","slug":"training-stipend","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/qprn.ca\/en\/training-stipend\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;broaden your scope&#8221; Internship Scholarship Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">program &#8211; OPEN<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This <strong>internship scholarship program<\/strong> is intended to support graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who wish to complete a research stay in an external setting to gain complementary training in pain research, whether related to a concept, a technique, a protocol, or the establishment of a new collaboration, in an area that is still underexplored or not yet developed by Quebec research teams. Applications for funding to attend specialized training sessions will also be considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Applicants must also demonstrate how the internship will benefit<\/strong> other members of the Quebec Network of Junior Pain Investigators (QNJPI) and\/or the Quebec Pain Research Network (QPRN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Quebec Pain Research Network plans to award a minimum of three scholarships per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Program Restrictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One application per fiscal year (April to March);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Priority will be given to applicants requesting funding for the first time;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Up to $2,000 per scholarship for internships within Canada;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Up to $3,500 per scholarship for international internships;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Combining this funding with other internship scholarships is allowed and even encouraged.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please contact us if your internship is taking place in Quebec; it is best to organize community workshops rather than fund individual internships within the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Being affiliated with a Quebec university and conducting research in a field related to pain;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Being supervised by a regular member of the Quebec Pain Research Network;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Being an active member of the Quebec Network of Junior Pain Investigators prior to the competition\u2019s opening;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completing an internship of at least 4 weeks in duration;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The internship must meet the <a href=\"https:\/\/frq.gouv.qc.ca\/regles-generales-communes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">criteria<\/a> established by the FRQ<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application preparation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply, you will need to indicate the following information in our online form:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cover page<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Title of the research project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Name of the applicant<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Name of the home laboratory<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Name of the supervisor who is a QPRN member<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Name of the host laboratory<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Name of the host supervisor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>City, Country<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Departure date and duration of the internship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Description of the research project to be carried out during the internship (1 page max)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Introduction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Realistic objectives to be achieved during the internship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Methods and expertise to be acquired<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expected results<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Justification for the internship<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Expertise to be acquired that is not available in Quebec<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added value of receiving the training outside Quebec (if it is available within the province)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expectations for the internship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relevance to your current thesis or postdoctoral project<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Budget<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Presented in table format<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Detailed description of anticipated expenses (outputs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Indicate other sources of funding (inputs)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Letter of support from the host supervisor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Letter of support from the thesis\/postdoctoral supervisor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Updated CV of the applicant (Biosketch format)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Updated CV of the host supervisor (Biosketch format)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Internship report<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The internship report must be sent to g&#101;&#115;&#x74;&#x69;&#x6f;n&#64;&#113;&#x70;&#x72;&#x6e;&#46;c&#97; within six weeks following the end of the internship and should follow the structure outlined in this <a href=\"https:\/\/qprn.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/2024_rapports_-stage_RQRD.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Payment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Funds will be transferred directly to your supervisor.
