Since 2007, the QPRN has held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for its members (a 2-day event in a central location in Quebec). This event is an excellent opportunity for all members to present their work, network, develop productive collaborations and receive scientific updates from leading experts in the field of pain research. On this occasion, researchers are invited to share laboratory results and updates on strategic initiatives and platforms in operation at the Network. This event is a great opportunity to practice communicating scientific ideas and concepts and to seek collaborations.

This year, regular/associate members, student members, clinical experts, research professionals and patient partners will meet in Beaupré to discuss ongoing research projects and their progress, and to find out more about the QPRN’s new consortia. The event will also be an opportunity to welcome and integrate new members, strengthen existing collaborations or create new ones, and take stock of the year’s progress and future objectives. To mark the retreat, two scientific conferences will be held on Friday 19 January at 1.30pm and 2.30pm. The first will focus on the work of Ipek Yalcin from the University of Strasbourg, and the second on the work of Fiona Campbell from the University of Toronto. The retreat will also host a poster session for students and blitz sessions for members.

Registrations are open from 13 October to 27 October 2023.
As the number of places is limited, we invite you to register now. The preliminary programme is available on the registration platform. Priority will be given to regular and associate members, as well as to students. QNJPI members will have to pay a deposit of $100, which will be reimbursed after their participation. A maximum of five students per laboratory may register, with a limit of 100 participants. As in previous years, research professionals, clinical experts and spouses of regular and associate members are invited to attend at their own expense.
