The PAINtalks is an event including diverse and captivating lectures on the theme of pain organized by the Quebec Network of Junior Pain Investigators (QNJPI). It is an innovative knowledge transfer initiative, bringing together the scientific, academic and clinical fields, patients suffering from chronic pain and the general public. This event contributes to the QPRN's mission to improve the quality of life of Quebecers suffering from chronic pain.
The PAINtalks 5th edition will take place in the Granada Theater in Sherbrooke on November 13th, 2020.

Pain is the primary reason for medical consultations by Quebec citizens. Faced with the population’s growing demand to be better informed about health issues, graduate students from the Quebec Network of Junior Pain Investigators (QNJPI) developed the PAINtalks. This knowledge transfer initiative, which is free and open to all, offers conferences to the general public on the theme of pain. Since the conferences are bilingual, a live translation service is now offered to the audience. The lectures are followed by a space for discussion, promoting interaction between the research community and the general public. The success and interest of the PAINtalks was recognized and is now partly funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
The PAINtalks conferences are recorded and edited by a professional team, and the videos with French and English subtitles are accessible on our YouTube channel and shared on our website, Facebook page and Twitter account. The PAINtalks has become a unique provincial meeting that is now expanding internationally thanks to its partners. Speakers are students, researchers, patients and who are chosen based on the originality of their proposal and their mandate to discuss controversies and advances in the field of pain. Selected individuals participate in an advanced program to deepen their outreach skills to convey a powerful message with a beneficial impact on the population.
