New research network to tackle chronic pain

Sherbrooke, Quebec, March 31, 2016 – The Quebec Pain Research Network (QPRN) is taking part in a new large Canadian network pioneering developments in patient-oriented health care for chronic pain research and care.

Chronic pain changes our immune systems

New research by Laura Stone and Moshe Szyf, from McGill University, shows chronic pain may reprogram the way genes work in the immune system.  These results were published in the  journal Scientific Reports.

First superspecialized pain program in Québec led by Aline Boulanger

Dr Aline Boulanger, from Université de Montréal, anesthesist and Director of the Pain Clinic of the CHUM (Clinique antidouleur du Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal) will lead the first program in Pain medicine in Quebec offer to specialized medical doctors.  The program will be offered through eight institutions affiliated to Université de Montréal.
